Construction Services
AEI is fully licensed and insured to conduct a variety of conventional construction services in compliance with local state and federal regulations. AEI works diligently with each customer to develop and implement comprehensive solutions to detect and treat soil and groundwater contamination. AEI strives to understand each client’s specific needs in order to create a comprehensive plan in an efficient, safe and cost effective manner.
AEI has the ability to remove and install USTs and ASTs that are commonly used to store petroleum and are regulated nationwide to prevent the release of toxic materials. AEI works to obtain all permits, review project requirements, work with appropriate regulatory agencies, perform all field work to successfully remove USTs, secure soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis and prepare a final report that documents our methods and findings.
UST Permitting
All regulated USTs owners are required to have permits for all installations of USTs or leak detection systems, renovations and operations. UST owners will be subjected to penalties if they do not acquire all proper permits. AEI assists clients in obtaining these necessary permits.
UST Installation
Improper installations that compromise the integrity or the proper functioning of USTs can lead to future problems. AEI has the ability to install USTs and ASTs while meeting leak detection, spill, and overfill and corrosion protection standards.
UST Removal
If contamination is discovered AEI can assist in applying for reimbursement of cleanup costs. With the experience from removing and replacing of over 1,200 USTs within California, AEI has the expertise to remove or close underground storage tanks cost effectively.
In-Situ Closure
In the event that a direct tank removal is not a practical solution, AEI will perform an in situ-closure which involves a triple rinsing of the tank and then filling it with inert cement slurry. This usually occurs in cases where the UST is under the foundation of a building or installed in close proximity to a structure or highway. In these situations AEI performs an in situ-closure upon approval of the local agencies involved.
Demolition
AEI works to innovate demolition solutions for buildings with environmental hazards. AEI’s demolition services are intended for small commercial and residential properties.
Contaminated Soil Disposal and Recycling
AEI will determine and coordinate the most cost effective and environmentally sustainable solution for the removal and disposal of hazardous materials or contaminated soil. Our experienced staff will perform analytical sampling and testing on contaminated soils in order to determine the most appropriate treatment method for contaminated soil. AEI will then transport the soil for disposal.
Onsite Waste Cleanup and Facility Closures
In facilities where waste has accumulated over time, property owners must remove the hazardous materials or ensure they will not pose a threat to human health or the environment. AEI is experienced in the removal and disposing of hazardous material and obtaining the correct certificates of disposal. AEI has the ability to install and remove oil water separators, remove hydraulic lifts, and perform closures and demolition of hazardous facilities.
AEI excavates soil from wetlands that have been contaminated by storm water run off. The contaminated area is then replaced by clean imported material and re-seeded with its natural habitat.
AEI provides treatment services for a variety of water treatment and maintenance situations. Wastewater must be treated and disposed of in a safe and effective manner. AEI excavates and removes sludge that accumulates during the wastewater treatment process in treatment and overflow ponds.
AEI also works to properly evaluate the infrastructure of existing culverts by inspecting and clearing excess silt build up and vegetation from waterways in order to ensure flooding is prevented.
Excavation may require that the soil of the property will need to be properly compacted. AEI ensures that the soil beneath the property will not collapse as a result of traffic or future work once the excavation is complete.
AEI has a number of highly qualified and skilled equipment operators capable of operating a full range of heavy equipment in excavation and trenching.
